Offers the potential to reduce casing and/or tubing sizes with no loss of
production
Enhanced ID corrosion resistance over base metal because of an
enrichment of chrome on ID surface
Enhanced ID erosion resistance over base metal because of an
enrichment of chrome on ID surface
Polishing process can be applied to pipe with any end finish (threaded or
plain end)
No operating temperature limitations compared to plastic coatings
No ID reduction compared to decreased ID when utilizing plastic coatings
T&C pipe can be processed with couplings on, while plastic coatings
require removal (pipe could be classified as used if couplings are
removed)
Possible elimination or reduction in paraffin or scale build-up on ID
surface (dependent upon well conditions)
Eliminates possibility of mechanical scraper damage associated with
plastic coating
Eliminates possibility of wire line cuts associated with plastic coating
